The coronavirus, COVID-19- a reasoned response: Homes for Sale in Emerald Isle, NC

The content of my blogs is usually fairly upbeat to reflect my passion for Emerald Isle, Bogue Banks and the Crystal Coast, in general. However, we have a new elephant in the room, the coronavirus, COVID-19, and it is this pandemic that I will discuss in today's posting.

In the past few decades, Emerald Isle, NC, the entire Crystal Coast, and I have weathered red tide algae blooms, Y2K computer concerns, tornados, nor’easters, hurricanes, and now, perhaps most challenging of all, a pandemic.  The coronavirus, COVID-19, continues to cause concern in the general public and among those engaged in travel. We here in Emerald Isle and along the Crystal Coast are a travel destination and I believe that the safety and security of our residents and guests is always our top priority.

All of us here on the Crystal Coast are closely monitoring official guidance from local government and health authorities and this blog will update you as more information becomes available. This is a situation that can change from day to day, and we can well understand that the thoughts of whether or not you, as a resident, can get to work or you as a guest may be able to travel, particularly those guests traveling by air to our small island.

During increased times of travel anxiety, many families take refuge and comfort while gathering, sometimes with multiple generations. With that, we here in Emerald Isle, NC expect to see an increase in bookings from travelers canceling vacations in more densely populated communities, cruises, travels to Europe, Asia or the theme parks of Universal Studios and Disney. Our island has always been, and continues to be, a safe haven for so many families.

All of us here in Emerald Isle, NC will continue to invite you to experience all of the benefits of small town living along the Crystal Coast. At the same time, we truly believe this is an extraordinary health situation that calls for great compassion, care and concern. This is a time for facts, hope, and reassurance and not fear.
