This blog is all about Emerald Isle, NC and, lately, many of these blogs have a COVID-19 update. Here is the latest. This weekend marks the beginning of the Town welcoming folks from all over the world to our little slice of paradise. So, I thought it would be a good thing to update everyone on how Emerald Isle is coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. Every decision made by Town of Emerald Isle is based upon the health and safety of our community. This includes full-time residents, part-time residents, businesses and tourists.

Not a single restriction, nor policy made, has been easy or popular.
CURRENT STATUS:
The Town of Emerald Isle has taken progressive steps to help reduce the spread and local exposure of COVID-19. Following is an update regarding local restrictions:

For the protection of all members and guests, the Parks and Recreation Community Center (7500 Emerald Drive) remains closed at this time.
GOING FORWARD:
Emerald Isle officials call on all citizens to voluntarily follow Gov. Cooper's phased re-opening plan. For more information, visit: https://www.nc.gov/covid19
When you go outdoors for essential reasons, follow the recommendations set forth by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Please reduce the risk of person-to person transmission by practicing social distancing measures, which decrease the frequency of contact and increase physical distance between persons.
Again, please take every precaution to protect you and yours. Together, we will get past the COVID-19 threat and enjoy the wonder and beauty of Emerald Isle soon!
