An Awesome 2021 New Year's Resolution

I’ve heard numerous real estate and donut shop customers tell me, “I want to live in Emerald Isle.” If you know that this is the place that makes you happiest, you need to ask: What’s the next step? Well, you can continue to dream. Or, you can make a New Year’s resolution to turn your island realty dreams into a happy reality and making Emerald Isle a permanent part of your life! I did just that many years ago and the only question I have is, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”

Choosing to live where others only get to vacation is easy, exciting and exhilarating. Here are five reasons why!

#1. Bogue Banks is one of the best islands to live on according Islands magazine. Why? Bogue Banks and Emerald Isle, in particular, have miles of inviting white beaches and extremely clear waters. Emerald Isle has the 2nd lowest tax rate of the 29 coastal communities in NC. Emerald Isle offers a quiet, relaxed pace of life, what the locals call “island time.”

#2. Real estate in Emerald Isle continues to be prized for its affordability and overall access to everything beautiful on the Crystal Coast. You don't have to invest a million dollars or more for a beach home here. If we are only talking dollars and cents, well, compared to homes found in other beach real estate markets across North Carolina or the country, you will quickly come to appreciate why Emerald Isle was recently named one of the best places to find bargain beach real estate. If a beach life is calling you, remember that the real estate inventory is never very high in Emerald Isle. After all, once you own a piece of paradise, you are more likely to pass it on to family than to list it on the market. Of course, you can find many of those same things on the island, but it's nice to know that you're not limited and have additional options. A second bridge located on the eastern end of Bogue Banks offers you ease of access to historic Crystal Coast maritime communities like Morehead City, Beaufort and Harkers Island and their respective waterfronts. Additionally, the larger cities of New Bern, Jacksonville, Wilmington and Raleigh-Durham are all within two hours of Emerald Isle.

#4.You'll get your daily dose of southern hospitality and so much more here. Emerald Isle is fiercely proud of its family-friendly and pet-friendly traditions and it exudes a warm, welcoming spirit to visitors and residents, alike. The Emerald Isle communities are safe and the neighborhoods reflect a strong sense of cohesion and community spirit. All of these qualities are summed up in the Town’s motto, “Nice Matters.”

#5. Relocating to Emerald Isle makes good on the promise of living in a temperate climate all year long with winter temps averaging in the 50s and summer temps averaging in the 80s. Spring and fall are some of the most idyllic times of year here with absolutely gorgeous weather conditions and less crowded beaches. One of the biggest advantages fulltime residents have over summer vacationers is the opportunity to experience all four seasons in Emerald Isle, along with having the time to enjoy them. When you move here, you'll also get to know Emerald Isle and the surrounding Crystal Coast region on a more intimate level, which usually means that you just fall in love with this slice of paradise more and more each day.
